Nanomedicine's Virtual Reach: A New Era in Healthcare

Image
In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, a quiet revolution is underway, and its name is nanomedicine. This remarkable fusion of nanotechnology and medicine is poised to change the way we understand and approach healthcare. Imagine a world where diseases are detected earlier than ever before, treatments are personalized down to the molecular level, and medicines are delivered with pinpoint accuracy. This is the world that nanomedicine promises to create, and its potential to transform diagnostics, treatments, drug delivery, and disease monitoring is nothing short of revolutionary. Nanomedicine operates in the realm of the incredibly small—the nanoscale, where particles measure in billionths of a meter. Nanomedicine is the offspring of two powerful fields: nanotechnology and medicine. Nanotechnology deals with crafting materials and structures at the nanoscale and harnessing their unique properties. When combined with medicine, this synergy opens doors to innovative solutions t...

CANCER BREAKTHROUGH: Programmable Self-Regulated Nano Transporters

Image
Cancer might be a disease from the past couple of centuries, but only the technology to cure it has only been starting to develop these days. With such innovations, many cancers are highly probable of being cured, if diagnosed early, meaning higher chances for cancer patients to live longer.   The cancer epidemic is one of the crucial global health issues, at present, accounting for around 10 million deaths every year. In 2022, studies estimated about 1.9 million incidents and 609,360 deaths will be reported from malignancy in the United States, alone [1] . Luckily, preventative measures are accessible. Around 30-50% of all cancer cases are currently preventable through a series of procedures to avoid or reduce exposure to risk factors, such as smoking cessation programs for smokers [2] . The number of cancer patients who survived through traditional clinical therapies was just about 25%, which has now improved to nearly 50% [3] . As a result, targeted therapy is now a cur...

Nano-pore Sequencing

Image
It is a third-generation sequencing approach by which a single molecule of DNA or RNA can be sequencing without using PCR for amplification or chemical labeling of sample 1 . It was invented by Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd. It can easily sequence ultra-long fragments easily and in no time. Working A nano-pore is a pore of nanometer size 10 -12 meters. A nanopore is a protein in nature, embedded in an electrically insulated membrane. An ionic current is passed through the aperture of the pore as the membrane is electrically resistant 2 . A single strand of DNA or RNA when passed through the pore it causes disruption in the current passing through the pore which is then detected 3 . Importance It is important as it is the fastest DNA sequencing technique as it has the capacity of sequencing 50-250 bases per sec/pore. Nanopore technology is used because  4 Ability to sequence single molecules Long read lengths Real-time analysis Cost-effectiveness Versatility   Advantage...
