Role of stem cellls in therapeutics

Image
ROLE OF STEM CELLS IN THERAPEUTICS ABSTRACT: All connective tissue cells are progenitors of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). MSCs have been extracted from bone marrow (BM) and other tissues in adults from a variety of vertebrate species, grown in culture, and differentiated into a variety of tissue-forming cells including bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, tendon, liver, kidney, heart, and even brain cells. Recent advancements in the practical end of MSC use toward regeneration of a human-shaped articular condyle of the synovial joint are one example of their functionality and flexibility 1 .   (Alhadlaq,2004) INTRODUCTION: Even in the twenty-first century, we still lack adequate therapies for numerous diseases such as diabetes, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and others. Stem Cells provide a ray of hope for the treatment of many intractable illnesses. Stem cell research is progressing. How an organism grows from a single cell and how healthy cells replace damaged...

Alzheimer’s disease

In today’s world, neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) pose a major threat to public health, and they are considered to be the most debilitating disorders affecting the human population. One reason for this is the fact that despite great advances in ne uroscience, no cure for NDs has been found yet. The progression of NDs leads to speech and moveme nt impairment, memory loss, and cognitive decline. These symptoms exert an immense emotional and financial burden on affected individuals, their families, and society as a w hole.   In recent times, NDs have become the fourth leading cause of death after hear t disease, cancer, and stroke (Rai et al. , 2019 ) . The prevalence of NDs, particularly Alzheimer’s disea se (AD) and Parkinson’s disease ( PD), is predicted to increase significantly in the coming year s. Although recent research has helped us in understanding the initial triggers of NDs as wel l as the potential factors that contribute to neuronal death, clear mechanisms unde...
