One World, One Aim: To Reduce Climate Change
How COP27 plans to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emission

Climate changes describe a change in the average conditions such as temperature and rainfall in a region over a long period of time. Scientists have observed Earth’s surface is warming and many of the warmest years on record have happened in the past 20 years. The observed rapid climate change is resulted by utilization of oil, gas and coal by humans at homes, factories and transport to perform daily tasks.

How could Greenhouse Gases harm?

A green house is an exchange of incoming and outgoing radiation that warms the planet like

factories and transport fumes. Upon the disposal of greenhouse gasses (like Carbon Dioxide)

from burning fuels, such gasses trap the sun’s heat and raise the Earth’s temperature.

Currently, a new framework for conserving Biodiversity and Climate Change is going to be

established with core stakeholders reaching the UN, with thousands of negotiators,

government representatives, businesses and citizens for 12 days at the Climate conference

(COP27) in Egypt.

Why COP27?

The COP27 (Conference of the Parties 27), a space where parties attend countries, signed up to

the original UN (United Nations) climate agreement. At that place, UN climate summits are held

every year for governments to negotiate on steps for limiting global temperature rises.

COP27 purpose areas:

● Reduce greenhouse gasses emissions.

● Assist countries to prepare for and cope up with climate change.

● Secure technical support and funds for developing countries for the above.

● Discuss unresolved issues at COP26

● Loss and damage finance - money to help countries recover from the effects of climate

change, rather than just prepare for it.

● Establishment of the global carbon market - to price the effects of emissions into

products and services globally

● Strengthen commitments to reduce the utilization of coal.

The highest expectation among researchers was to observe real evidence at COP27 that

countries are abiding their promises from Glasgow’s COP26 and prioritize policy measures

necessary to achieve net zero – and limit temperature rises to 1.5.

How could countries cooperate to reduce the climate crisis?

The Global Goal on Adaptation established under the Paris Agreement to build an adaptive capacity, strengthen resilience, and reduce vulnerability to the climate crisis enabling

vulnerable communities across the globe to adapt. As expected, parties will discuss this goal in

Egypt and further, stress out the need to raise climate finance towards adaptation outcomes

and enhanced resilience.

Governments are expected to assess progress on climate pledges encompassing the cutoff emissions, phasing out fossil fuels, ramping up renewable energy use and ensuring the support of rich countries for poor nations, bearing the brunt of climate change.

The wealthier countries must provide financial and technical assistance, along with support from multilateral development banks and technology companies to aid emerging economies speed their renewable energy transition.

Conclusion

Recently,  many disasters occurred  globally. Now , the  time to take steps for our planet to conveniently assemble via this conference of the party, “We trust the world, will come together, et again, to reaffirm its commitment to the global climate agenda despite the difficulties and uncertainties of our time.” COP27 is a moment of truth for the international community,

Based on our thoughts, the conference would target on reducing emissions by cutting off greenhouse gas emissions to nearly zero emissions, as possible.

They will make it possible to switch from  fuel base vehicles into electric hybrid transport and also, regulate  industrial level harmful gases by utilizing biofuels and make strict rule to avoid the use of polythene bags.
